Pantone 100 series
Back in 2020 like many people, I found myself with a lot of time on my hands. I got a dog, played a lot of animal crossing, and ate so much cake. I also ended up challenging myself to paint a box of 100 Pantone postcards. Each day I’d pick a card and use the colour as inspiration, trying to base a majority of the subject matter on the card. The postcards payed an interesting challenge, in that their glossy surface meant sketching wasn’t practical forcing me to embrace the lack of control I was used to. From this I gained a lot more confidence in freehand painting and a deeper love and understanding of colour.
